Christmas Shows
I am sure that you will all agree that the Christmas shows were absolutely wonderful. All of the children in the school from Nursery to Year 6 were involved, showing off their skills, talents and enthusiasm. It was a real joy to see them all shine in what ever they were doing. It was very special to have the music sung and played live for both shows.
£345 was made in the collections, with a further £100 donated by our friends at Family Assurance. This will go towards buying some more musical instruments for the children. It takes a lot of work and dedication from the staff to put on such ambitious shows, and I know that you will join me in thanking everyone involved for their hard work and dedication. Thanks also to all the parents and carers who provided those fabulous costumes – it helped turn the performances into real shows!
St Patrick’s
This morning, Julie Aldous and I took four children from Year 6 to St Patrick’s Church Night Shelter to deliver some presents donated by Staff at Family Assurance. We also took 60 Christmas cards, made by children from Reception to Year 6 and a cheque for £105, raised through our Big Bake. Father Allen gave us a very interesting tour of the church, hostel and shelter. He thanked the children for the hand made cards, and explained that they would help make Christmas special for the people they help. He said that the generous donation would keep the Night Shelter open for a night during this winter.
Cinema Visits
The children in Years 5 and 6 are off to the cinema on Tuesday to see “A Series of Unfortunate Events”.
Term Dates
The school breaks up for the Christmas holiday on Tuesday 21st December, so the first day of the holiday is Wednesday 22nd. Children return to school on Friday 7th January.
