Bike It

Well done to all those children (and grown-ups) who have cycled to school this week. Please let Mrs Brill know in the office and she will reward you with a sticker. Hopefully, on Monday morning we will have a new bicycle shelter for your use just inside the main gates. Please take care when bringing your bike through the gates.

Fireworks Safety

The children are all aware of the safety issues around fireworks. They know they should hold sparklers with care and that, adults only should light the fireworks. Please have a safe and enjoyable bonfire evening.

Halloween Disco

We all enjoyed the School Association’s Halloween disco. It was very well attended and raised £401 for the school which is very much appreciated by us all.

Christmas Dinner

The school’s Christmas dinner will take place on 13th December. Please return the Christmas dinner letter you should have recently received by Friday 17th November. If you did not receive a letter please obtain one from the school office.

If you have completed a Criminal Bureau Check (CRB check) and have received a reply certificate please would you show the certificate to Mrs Brill in the office. Mrs Brill will then be able to photocopy the certificate and put it on file. You will then have the go ahead to help in school or on school trips.

Parent Governor Vacancy

Many apologies but there has been a little confusion over this last parent governor vacancy. We didn’t give a closing date for this final appointment. If you are interested in becoming a parent governor please ask for an application form at the school office and return it to the school office addressed to the Head Teacher by 3.30pm Friday 17th November. If more than one parent applies there will be an election.

Curriculum Committee

The Governors Curriculum Committee is meeting on Thursday 9th November. The minutes of the meeting will be available on the Governors notice board.

Book Week

Book week begins on Monday. The children will spend the week engaged in a variety of exciting activities involving the world of books, reading, writing and illustrating. On Friday we will celebrate the Book week by dressing up as book characters. So please help your child chose a favourite book character to dress up as and donate 50p to the school fund. Please hand the 50p donation in to the office on the Friday morning. School staff will also be dressing up. See if you can identify which characters, they are supposed to be.

Reminder
