Adopt a Player

Middle Street is linking up with Brighton and Hove Albion football team to take part in their Adopt a Player scheme. Ms Busby and I attended ` a presentation at the new Amex stadium last week where we met our two players. They are Tommy Elphick and Will Hoskins. Tommy is a Brighton lad and has taken part in this project before. Will is new to Brighton having played for Bristol Rovers in the past. He is new to the project but very much looking forward to spending time with us. They should be visiting for the first time next week.

Reception Parent and Carers meeting

Parents and carers of reception children are invited in to school on Friday 30th September at 9.30. It is an opportunity for you to meet the class teacher and reception staff if you have not already done so. It is also a time to hear about routines and learning which takes place in the reception year and of course to ask any questions you may have about this special year in your child’s life. The meeting will take place in the school library which is conveniently next door to the reception classroom.

Parent Consultation Meetings

Parent consultation evenings take place this term on Wednesday 19th October  and Thursday 20th. This is an opportunity for you to find out how your child is settling in to their new class and discuss their learning targets. You will receive a letter with more information nearer the time.

PLEASE…..

Please could I ask all parents and carers to ensure their children do not play with PE equipment, footballs etc in the hall or in the playground before school or at the end of the day. We have spent considerable amounts of our budget replacing equipment. Please help us by encouraging your child to respect school property at all times. Please could parents and carers also ensure their child is not using the climbing frames in the front playground at the end of the day. Thank you.

On Time Teds

This week’s Key Stage 1 winners are year 2 with 5 late mark. In Key Stage 2 the winners are years 3 and 5 who both had 1 late marks. Well done years 2, 3 and 5!

Half Term

We finish for the half term on Friday 21st October and return on Tuesday 1st November.
