Shoreham Airport Adventures

Year 1 and Year 2 had a fabulous and very interesting visit to Shoreham airport on the last day of half term. They found out lots of information about flight, sat in the cockpit of an aeroplane and toured the airport. You see the photographs of their trip on our website.

Christmas Celebrations.

Our school choir will be singing at the Brighton and Hove schools carol concert which takes place on Monday    3rd December at the Brighton Centre. The Christmas dinner takes place on Wednesday 12th December and our Christmas performances take place at the Sallis Benny theatre on Tuesday 18th December. Nursery, Reception and Key Stage 1 children perform at 1.15 and Key Stage 2 children perform at 2.15. We will send home more information nearer the time.

Governors Meeting

There will be a full governors meeting on Thursday 15th November. Minutes of the meeting will be displayed on the Governors notice board in the school foyer.

On-Time Teds

This week’s Key Stage 1 winners are Year 2 with 1 late mark and in Key Stage 2 the winners are Year 4 with 0 late marks. Well done to both classes for being punctual.

Cheerleading Club

We still have spaces in our cheerleading club, which runs on Tuesdays after school. Cheerleading club members will also get the chance to actually perform at one of the Brighton and Hove Albion’s matches at the Amex stadium. How very exciting! Let the office staff know, if you would like to join.

Middle Street Adult Choir

We are still looking for new recruits to sing with us in our adult choir. The choir sings every Thursday 5.15 till 6.15. Do come along and find out for yourself how much fun it is. You will be amazed at how quickly you will find yourself singing along with a big smile on your face. If you are interested let me know and I can give you more details (and boost your confidence).

Congratulations to…

Jack, Sol, Hammad, Tino and Isabella from Year 3 who have all successfully completed their lunchtime hall buddy training. Well done Jack, Sol, Hammad, Tino and Isabella

Mrs Doig Would Like Your Help

Mrs Doig’s son is volunteering in an orphanage near Jaipur, India. There are 40 children, 39 boys and 1 girl. They are all in need of clothing, toys and craft materials. If you feel able to donate anything from the above list please leave your donation at the office. Donations should arrive by Thursday 15th November and Mrs Doig will post them on Friday 16th November. All donations will be gratefully received and appreciated. Thank you.

Book Share

We are holding a book share session as part of the Global Crowd Sharing event on Wednesday 14th November. The event takes place at 1.00 till 2.00. To take part in the event, children should bring in books they would like to swap. This is a great way to refresh the bookshelves and have new stories to read. The event is part of a worldwide event taking place on that day, when millions of people will be sharing at the same time. Ms Davies in year 3 is overseeing the event.

School Closed

Please remember we are closed due to the Police Commissioner elections (we are used as a polling station) on THURSDAY 15TH NOVEMBER next week.

Winter Break

We finish for the Winter break on Thursday 20th December and return to school on Tuesday 8th January.
Nursery children return to school on Thursday 10th January.
