May Day Celebrations

We have had a very exciting day today! To begin the day year 3 performed their Morris dance for us all in the playground, in assembly our samba band performed for the whole school and finally later in the morning we enjoyed a visit from the Brighton Morris dancers who danced and entertained us in the playground in their usual jolly way. Brilliant!

Festival Parade

The parade takes place tomorrow. We will be meeting in Gloucester Road at 9.45 (Samba Band meet at 9.30 please). Our flag number is 25. Please be aware that we do often have to wait for sometime before the parade gets underway so come prepared with snacks and something to keep you and your child amused while you wait.
We will be dressing as clouds or monkeys (our element is air) Suggestions for clothing are as follows: white and silvery clothes for clouds and red shirts and trousers for monkeys. Our very excellent samba band will be leading our school in the parade.

School Security

The school’s main entrance doors will be locked from 3.30 pm in the afternoons. If you are collecting from a club please wait outside by the main entrance door unless it is raining in which case you should buzz at the door to be let in.

On Time Teds

The winners of the On Time Teds this week are Year 2 and Year 4. Well done to both classes for being so punctual.

Year 1 Share Creative Partnerships Experience

Year 1 went along to the Jubilee library on Wednesday to share with other schools their experiences of working with Catherine Grimaldi and the Creative Partnerships programme. They performed a shadow puppet story with Catherine reading their story aloud to the audience. They then answered questions from the audience.

School Dinner Amendment

The school cook has asked me to inform you of a change to next weeks cooked dinners. Wednesday’s dinner will be a roast dinner (usually on a Tuesday) and Tuesday’s dinner will be pasta.

School Closure on Thursday 4th June

We are closed on this day as parts of Middle Street School are used as a polling station for the Parliamentary elections.

May Day Bank Holiday and Half Term Break

The school is closed on Monday May 4th for the May Day bank holiday. We finish for the half term holiday on Friday 22nd May and return to school on Monday 1st June.
