Haiti Earthquake Appeal
We’ve seen the terrible conditions in Haiti as a result of the recent earthquake. I’m sure like all of us at Middle Street you would like to do something to help. To raise funds to help the children in Haiti we are having a ‘School Uniform’ day next Friday 29th January. The uniform can be as amusing as children wish. We are suggesting a customised uniform of white shirt, tie, black or grey trousers or skirt and a black or grey jumper or cardigan. Obviously we would expect some imaginative additions to the uniform. Children can donate 50p or more on the day. We will donate the money to Unicef who are already in the country providing clean water, shelter and medical help.
Goodbye Ms Howells and Ms Murphy
Today we are saying good bye to 2 trainee teachers who completed their teaching practice with us. Mary Ann Howells and Ruby Murphy have been working with year 1 and Year 6 respectively since October. They have been great fun to work with, as well as excellent trainee teachers. Good Luck to both of you and all the best for the future from everyone at Middle Street
Middle Street Football Team
Ms Busby and Ms Martin have asked me to mention out fabulous football team who played in a tournament on Tuesday. Although they did not win they played brilliantly but most impressively displayed an amazing team spirit and fantastic attitude towards other schools involved as well as being very supportive of each other. They are excellent ambassadors for Middle Street School. Well done team I am very proud of you!
On Time Teds
The winners this week are in the Infants: Reception and Years 1 and 2 who are sharing the On-Time Teds this week and in the Juniors: Year 5. Well done all three classes.
