Year 2 Assembly Fun

During their assembly Year 2 told us all about sign language. They sang and signed a song for us and showed us their names in sign language. Thank you Year 2 for a very informative and fun assembly.

Sports Day

Sports day will be held at Withdean Stadium next week on Thursday 24th June. You should have received a letter with lots of information.

Asthma Pumps and Other Medication

If your child suffers with asthma, please could you ensure they have an asthma pump with them in class and a spare named pump handed in at the office. Other medications should be clearly named and handed in at the office unless there are other arrangements.

Lunchtimes and End of School Day

We will be extending the lunchtime period from September to 55 minutes. This extension will extend the length of the school day to ensure children have their entitlement of teaching and learning time. The school day for infants will therefore end at 3.10 pm and the Junior day will end at 3.15 pm.

St Nicolas Park

I have been informed of some complaints regarding a few Middle Street children who have not been on their best behaviour when playing in St Nicolas Park. If your child visits the park to play please ensure they are being respectful to residents living nearby and being kind to other children who play in the park.

Music Summer School

A variety of musical activities are available to children who already play musical instruments during the summer break. The activities are organised by the music service. Further information can be found at www.bhmas.org.uk/music/summer_school.

Child Care Questionnaire to Parents

Brighton and Hove council have sent questionnaires to a sample of parents across Brighton and Hove to about child care and how they can improve what’s on offer. Results from the questionnaires will be matched to child care supply data and used to plan future provision across the city. The Family Information Service can be contacted for further information on 293545.
