OFSTED Report

Our Ofsted report is now available. If you would like a copy please ask at the office. The report will be on line in approximately three weeks time. The web site address is http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/reports/.

The report highlights among other very positive judgements our excellent ICT and sporting provision, how well children do overall in English Maths and ICT and that the children are happy and well cared for by the school. The areas we are working on to improve include the development of writing skills in Key Stage 1 and Foundation Stage. The inspectors also highlighted our poor attendance figures and were very concerned about the amount of parents taking children on holiday during term time. I will be writing a separate letter to you all regarding this problem in the near future.

Football

Our 6 a side football team played well on Friday at the Sainsbury’s Small School Tournament. The tournament took place after school at East Brighton Park. They played very well as a team, so good in fact they have been invited back in the near future to play against the Brighton College team. Very well done to all team members and we look forward to some exciting results in the future.

Trip to Bignor

Year 3 enjoyed their trip to Bignor Roman Villas despite the awful weather. They discovered a lot of interesting facts and information about the Romans and how they lived. This will help them with their topic work in the classroom.

Book Week

We are having a Book Week starting Monday 6th November. Please let your class teacher know if you are able to help in any way during the Book Week.
