Emergency School Closure

The school will be closed on Wednesday 16th July and Thursday 17th July (next week). This is due to Unison strike action. A letter was sent home earlier this week informing you of the 2 day closure.

End of Year Reports

The end of year reports will be out on Friday 18th July. There has been a delay with return of the end of Key Stage 2 SAT results. We are hoping to receive them at the end of next week. You may have read about the problems with the new systems put in place for marking SATs papers etc in the national press.

On Time Teds

The winners of the On-Time Teds this week are: Year R and Year 6. Well done to all the children in Reception and Year 6 for getting into class on time. Each class received only one late mark each in the register this week.

Year 6 Picnic

If the weather permits Year 6 should be joining Year 6 pupils from other local schools for a picnic and games on the field at BHASVIC. The children will be put into secondary school groupings. This provides them with the opportunity to make new friends before they begin Year 7 together in their new schools.

Nursery and Reception Sports Day

The rain stopped long enough on Tuesday for Reception and Nursery children to enjoy their sports day. Photos of the event can be found on our website.

New Classes

Children will be meeting their new teachers on Monday 14th July. They will spend from 9.30 until 11.30 in their new classroom taking part in activities in preparation for the new term.

Year 6 Leavers Assembly

The Year 6 leaver’s assembly takes place on Monday 21st July at 1.30. Year 6 parents and carers are invited along to help us celebrate this special event.

Class Photos

Class photos are displayed in the school office for you to look at. You may purchase a photo from the office for £8. If you are unable to get into the office to view your child’s class photo please phone the office to make another arrangement. Photos must be paid for before Friday 18th July.

Dinner Money and other Debts

Please could all dinner money and trip payment debts be paid up by the end of next week. These debts impact on the school budget and in turn impact on provision for the children. Please keep up to date with payments.

Lost Property Etc

Please check lost property this week before it is sent off to charity. Please also take home bikes, scooters and skateboards daily. There are a number of scooters and one or two bikes that appear to have been abandoned. Any bikes etc left at the end of term will be donated to charity.

Road Safety

Please could parents and carers take extra care of their children when leaving the school. With the road works and congestion around the school making it difficult to move safely along the pavements at the moment it is very important that children should walk with parents rather than run ahead. Please also be wary of cars backing out of the school car park and leaving other car parks near by.

Roman and Mimi on the Radio

Roman Year 5 and Mimi Year R can be heard on the radio from 11.30 until about 1.00 tomorrow morning. They will be in conversation with CBBs presenter Sid Sloane talking about black community champions and Roman will be also reviewing a book.

Congratulations to…

Eden Nathaniel in Year 1 who has achieved his Blue Belt in Jujitsu. Well done Eden!

End of Term

We close for the summer holidays at 3.05 pm on Tuesday 22nd July and re-open on Monday 8th September.
