Brighton Festival Children’s Parade

The parade theme this year is: THE ELEMENTS and Middle Street is AIR. Parents and Carers with a little help from Mr Brazil have come up with a terrific idea to get you all inspired — we’ll be dressing up as the Chinese Monkey God who flies on clouds. Mr Brazil and his samba band will be leading the way, along with help from a Brazilian samba master. A group of parents are already hard at work making a giant monkey puppet, but there’s plenty more for you all to get involved with. On Mondays we’ll be running after school workshops for children and adults to make props and costumes, plus we’ll be learning chants and dance routines to ensure that the Middle Street effort is the best yet. No skills are necessary, just come along and get involved – this year, the sky really is the limit.
The first workshop is from 3.15 – 5.00pm on Monday 23 March in the Hall.
If you have any questions or want to get involved, contact Sarah or Issy via the school office where they will give you contact details. Alternatively contact Mrs Purdy at school either face to face or during school hours on the school number 323184.
