Christmas and Winter Fair

Father Christmas was quite worn out after meeting so many children at yesterday’s PTA Christmas and Winter fair. Thank you so much to everyone who came along and joined in. It was great to see the hall packed full of happy faces including our local community police officers! Well done and thank you to the lovely group of parents who organised and ran the event.

Middle Street Christmas Shows

Our Christmas performances take place at the Sallis Benny theatre in Grand Parade (Brighton University Art College) on Tuesday 18th December. Nursery, Reception and Key Stage 1 children perform at 1.15 and Key Stage 2 children perform at 2.15. The Key Stage 2 performance will run over the end of the school day, so teachers back at the school will hold on to the younger siblings until parents and carers attending the Key Stage 2 performance are able to make it back to school.
Please also be aware that Nursery parents are asked to enter the theatre before other parents and carers as they have to accompany their children to the performance.

Raffle Tickets

Raffle tickets are still on sale at the office for the adults raffle so do pop in if you fancy a chance at winning a coffee machine or one of the many other exciting prizes. The raffle will be drawn on Wednesday morning.

Goodbye to…

We will be saying goodbye at the end of this term to Ms Burbridge who has been teaching in Year 5 on Mondays and Tuesdays. We have really enjoyed working with Ms Burbridge and are sad to say goodbye. Thank you Ms Burbridge, we will miss you.
Mr Daly has been helping out as a teaching assistant in Year 1 but sadly his role has come to an end. I am sure, though, that Mr Daly will be volunteering and helping out where he can in the future, so it’s not really goodbye. We have really appreciated Mr Daly’s help so thank you so much for all that you have done for us.

Welcome back to…

In January we will be welcoming back Mrs Katie Jones after her year’s maternity leave. Mrs Jones, as I am sure you will remember, is our deputy head and Senco. Mrs Jones is returning part time working on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Mr Smart has been acting deputy head and Senco during Mrs Jones absence and has done a brilliant job! Thank you Mr Smart. Mr Smart will resume his role as Assistant Head in January and will be available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On a Thursday and Friday Mr Smart will be teaching Year 5.
