Year 5 Assembly

Year 5 performed a brilliant assembly for everyone today. The assembly was based on their Space Learning Journey. The mini play was set in a classroom with ‘professors’ and ‘aliens’. The aliens were finding out about emotions. The assembly ended with a song. Unfortunately I missed the assembly, but Year 5 kindly sang the song for me later this morning. I have been very impressed by their fantastic spaceships designed and made by the children for their take home task. The models have working parts and must have taken a lot of thought and time to produce. Well done Year 5!

Nursery Visit

Nursery children have been to visit ‘Mrs Armitage’ as part of their learning journey. The children are familiar with Mrs Armitage and her bicycle as a character in a picture book. The children travelled by public transport to Mrs Armitage’s house. They remembered lots of details from the book and information about different modes of travel. Ms Layzell and the Nursery team were very impressed by the children’s excellent memories and knowledge.

A Funny Thing Happened

A funny thing happened in assembly to day! An alien arrived from outer space and told us all about the Thunderkids Superdads club in school this Saturday. He invited children to bring along their dads, male carers, granddads uncles etc for activities and fun.
The club is free and is ideal for children aged 5 to 10. The children get to have a go at a variety of activities with their dads, male carers and or male relatives with some time built in for the men to get together for some grown up chat. The session is held in the hall at Middle Street on Saturday February 6th starting at 9.00 and ending at 12.00. Drop in for the morning if you are interested.

She was a very kind old lady who gained a lot of pleasure spending time at Middle Street before she became unwell. We also appreciated her help and kindness so it is with sadness I am you that Mrs Amerena died the week before last. Mrs Denyer kindly represented Middle Street at the funeral.
